Baby Shark Makes It on Top 100 Chart

The annoyingly catchy kids' tune is gaining mainstream music popularity.

Baby Shark, the viral kids' tune, ranked number thirty-second on the Billboard charts the week of January 6-12. The Billboard rankings rely on data from digital downloads, album purchases, and social media interaction, as well as other platforms.

Pinkfong, a South Korean company, released the video in 2016, which is when it first went viral (Fatherly). It's an educational kids' tune about, well, a baby shark. It also ranks in the top thirty most-viewed videos on YouTube, an impressive feat.

It has moved to other mediums as well: Amazon has created Baby Shark stuffed plushes, and a book based on the video was recently released. Click here to learn more about this song's Billboard debut.
