New Barbie Dolls Celebrate ALL Women

Empowering female role models that are inspiring young girls

Barbie has been a cultural icon for decades, but has found herself in the headlines for the wrong reasons from time to time. Today, the story changes.

In honor of International Women's Day, Mattel has unveiled 17 new Barbie's modeled after some of the most iconic women in history, ranging from Olympian Chloe Kim to artist Frida Kahlo.

Barbie began their "Shero" program in 2015 after surveying 8,000 mothers and discovering that 86% of them are worried about what kind of role models their daughters are exposed to. Their response was to release a series of inspiring dolls from both past and present in an effort to shine a light on empowering female role models.

You can discover the full line of dolls and learn more about these inspiring women on Mattel.com.
