The #1 Toddler Playground Injury May Shock You

Don't let your kids go down another slide until you read this!

What if I told you something many of you are doing everyday with your baby could actually hurt them...or even send them to the ER? That's right, the #1 toddler playground injury may shock you.

Heather Claire shared an important message to all parents on the Today Show this morning, saying that her 12 month old daughter (at the time) broke her foot when Heather went down the slide with her baby girl on her lap.

While you may not have ever heard of this type of injury (I hadn't!), pediatricians comment that it's the top slide injury they see. The weight of a parent pushing down the slide can easily trap your child's foot between yourself and the slide.

Instead, the safe way to help your child down a playground slide is to stand next to them, halfway between the top of the slide and the ground. Hold them as they slide down and then allow them to finish on their own once they get to the bottom.
